William D. Warbritton

William D. Warbritton, age 97, passed away on October 6, 2018.

William was the son of the late Verlie (Mitchell) and Eber Warbritton. He served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II and went on to work in the Department of Defense. William was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy, in 2007; his infant sister, Bruxie Inez Warbritton, brother and sister-law, Aubrey and Charline Warbritton of Huntingdon, TN and his special friend and partner of 10 year Mary Simpson.

William is survived by his daughters and their spouses, Kathy and Edward Janvier of Hockessin, DE and Kay and Mitch Finkel of Morgantown, WV; his grandchildren Mark Janvier, and Sherry (Dan) Owens and Mary Finkel; and two great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 10:30-11:30 A.M. with funeral services beginning at 11:30 A.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Tech Educational Foundation, 400 Stanton Christiana Road Newark, DE 19713 or the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, 1225, 100 W 10th St suite 209, Wilmington, DE 19801.
