Margaret Milano “Moggy”, age 96, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Compassionate Care Hospice surrounded by her family.
Born in Philadelphia, Moggy was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary (Taylor) Burnham. She was raised in the Browntown section of Wilmington and graduated from St. Elizabeth Grade School and Wilmington High School. Moggy worked at Electric Hose during World War II and later had a long career working as a supermarket meat cutter and wrapper at Pathmark before her retirement. Moggy loved spending her summers at Crystal Beach Manor and never missed her glass of paisano wine with dinner.
In addition to her parents, Moggy was predeceased by her husbands, Casper Ignatowski and Angelo Milano; her daughter, Angela Bowen; her son-in-law, Harry Giovan; and four siblings, Eleanor Burns, Zita Hayes, Vinnie Rolko and Harry Burnham. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Judy Giovan, Janice Squibb and Tina Brown (Chris); her grandchildren, Harry Giovan (Darci), Robin Carter (Mike), Jeremy Giovan (Renee), Alison Miraglia (Gig), Dy Bowen (Kelley), Ryan and Connor Brown; and her great grandchildren, Jared and Natalie Giovan, Hannah, Michael and Gavin Carter, Bennett and Brayden Giovan, Luca, Nico and Gia Miraglia and Nick, Zach and Maddie Bowen. The family would like to thank her caregiver of the last five years, Alice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 1st at 11 AM at Corpus Christi Church, 901 New Road, Elsmere where friends are invited to visit after 10 AM. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
