Madonna M. Kapec

Age 72, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 17th 2018, at home surrounded by her Son, Daughter-in-law, and Aunt.

Born in Shenandoah, PA. Madonna was the daughter of Vladimir “Walter” Kapec and Eleanor J. (Honas) Kapec. She has held many jobs over the years, most notably as a Data Entry Clerk at Hercules Corp., where she stayed for many years until the dissolving of the company. Madonna was an accomplished and driven woman who took pride in everything that she did. She was an All-Star women’s fast pitch pitcher and a talented vocalist who was fortunate enough to sing with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra as part of a choir during a Christmas performance of Handel’s Messiah. She loved to cook, decorate, entertain, and the feeling of a hard day's work. She also enjoyed spending time with family, the beach, and relaxing on the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack.

Madonna is survived by her Son and Daughter-in-law, Christopher and Jamie Fix of New Castle, DE and was preceded in death by her Brother, Michael (Mickey) Kapec.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 20th at 11 AM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd. Wilmington, where friends and family are invited to a visitation after 10 AM. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown Stanton Rd, Newark, DE 19713.

Chris and Jamie, I am so sorry about your mother. She was such a friendly neighbor and always complimented us on anything we did to the yard. She kept a beautiful home and always made you feel welcome. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both as your mother lives on in our hearts.

Grief can be so hard and painful, but our special memories  can help us to cope. I'm sorry to hear about your loss and wanted to share the Bible's hope of a resurrection at a time when there is no more sickness, pain or death right here on earth according to Revelation 21:3,4.
