Emily Katherine Rose DeGrazia, 92 of Pike Creek passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her family.
Emily was born in Plainfield, NJ, the daughter of the late Katherine (Beben) and Augustus Rose. She was employed the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company as an operator/supervisor for 20 years and after moving to Delaware she worked for Sears. She was a mentor at Anna P. Mote Elementary School. Emily was a graduate of Plainfield High School and Goldey Beacom College. She was a member of the Newark branch of the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill.
Emily was predeceased by her husband, James, her granddaughter, Jillian Workman, her brothers, Stanley and Henry Rose and her sister, Dorothy Clader.
Emily will be missed by her daughters and their husbands, Janice and Harry Epstein of Newark and Judith and Bill Workman of Wilmington; her son, Authur J. DeGrazia; her granddaughters, Andrea McConnell and Pamela Epstein; her great-grandchildren, Cole McConnell and Olivia Winter and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Wednesday evening at 6 PM, where friends may call after 5 PM. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to NAMI, 2400 Fourth Street, Wilmington, DE 19805
